Mrs Bells Blue Ewes 8x180g
Produced using fresh British sheep's milk, Mrs Bell's Blue is considered to be a true contender to the best ewes milk blue cheeses from the continent. The meadowy sweetness of the ewe's milk contrasts with the saltiness of the cheese to deliver a rich and complex blue flavour. Milder than a Roquefort but enough punch and complexity for any blue cheese lover's palate. This is the sister cheese to our renowned Yorkshire Blue. We launched Mrs Bell's Blue in 1997 and it immediately made its presence known - winning two gold medals and Reserve Supreme Champion at the prestigious Nantwich International Cheese Show. Mrs Bell's Blue is based on a continental style recipe, as creamy as Yorkshire Blue but whiter in appearance. Each batch hand-made cheeses they are salted and then matured in our ripening store for a minimum of 10 weeks. This process achieves a complex blue flavour, less salty and creamier than Roquefort but often compared. Mrs Bell's Blue is a favourite with the chefs including Rick Stein and Raymond Blanc.
